What You Need to Know Before Showing Your Home

Today we’ll be talking about what you need to do when an agent comes to show your home. You’ll need to do some things before the Realtor shows up, so let’s talk about that for a moment. You’ll be notified in advance of the appointment, and it’s important that you follow our showing system because we track buyer feedback. The feedback from the buyer is very important to selling your home. I could give you feedback all day, but it’s most important when it comes from the buyer. One thing you need to do is turn all of the lights on, and open up your windows as well. The brighter the home, the more appealing it is to the buyer. Plus, it’s easier to show a home when a buyer can actually see it! “The feedback from the buyer on your home is very important!” Be aware that every home has its own odor. This doesn’t mean that your home smells funny, it just smells distinct. Deodorize your home with some Febreeze or another air freshener, but make sure it’s not too overpowering. You don’t want to make the buyer think you’re covering something up, so use a deodorizer and not just an air freshener. If someone shows up to your home without an appointment, or if they don’t want to use the lock-box, do not let them in your home. This is for your security, and it’s also because we cannot capture the buyer’s feedback if you happened to show them the home for some reason. These are just some of the tips we have for when you decide to sell your home. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’d be very happy to help you!
