As we all know, Austin has become THE place to live. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, an average of 157 people are moving to our beloved city every day. But where are they all migrating from? SpareFoot, an Austin-based startup, researched this very question, and came up with some surprising answers. The majority of new residents – 53.43% – come from within Texas itself. Below are the top 5 counties people are fleeing in order to escape to Austin. Williamson County Harris County Hays County Bexar County Dallas County The other 46.57% of our new neighbors come from outside of Texas, and these result may surprise you. Cook County, IL (Chicago) Orange County, CA Los Angeles County, CA Maricopa County, AZ (Phoenix) Providence County, RI Illinois and Rhode Island, you say!? With scientific data like this, Austinites can no longer claim that all the new residents are coming from California. #metroaustinhomes

Should You Sell Your Home? If you own a home in the Northwest Austin area and ever wondered how much it would sell for, we’re about to make things easy for you! The Austin Board of REALTORS recently released statistics featuring 6 ZIP codes in the northwest region of the city. Not only can you see how many homes were for sale throughout the month in each ZIP code, but the average length of time spent on the market, and the median price homes sold for compared to April of 2015. 78750 saw the most action, with 110 houses for sale in April, and an average of 15.7 days on the market. However, 78759 had the biggest increase in price, with the average selling price rising 28% over last year. With interest rates currently at record lows, and median selling prices like these,there’s never been a better time to put your home on the market.
